Climate Change Orana Park

Hi, This week we have been in orana park and watching those amazing animals, Today Im sharing about what we have seen in orana park and what we enjoy.

3 thing you enjoyed about the trip.

  1. I enjoy having morning tea and lunch
  2. I enjoy watching those amazing animals
  3. I enjoy taking a picture of those animals

4  Facts you learnt
  1. I learn about the  African wild dog if they escape in there home, they will chase there pray until there prey has no more energy left and claps and immediately massacre.
  2.  I learn about the kiwi bird, There is only one there and when we go inside its very dark because the kiwi bird is new.
  3. I learn about How to feed the giraffes. If u have the food for giraffe and u give it to them u need to use your two hands because they will also eat the stick and stuck inside in their neck.
  4. When you want to look at the cheetah, don't focus at there eyes because they think u wanna fight them.

My Investigation on climate change

Welcome to my new another science blog.

My Investigation on climate change

    ACIDIFICATION

DEFINITION: the action or process of making or becoming acidic.

What is happening to the oceans?  The ocean is absorbing carbon dioxide, it is good for us, but not really good for the ocean, The ocean put acidic.

What does this do to shellfish?
    They do not grow properly

HOW DOES CLIMATE CHANGE CONTRIBUTE TO THE ACIDIFICATION OF OUR OCEANS?

DEFINITION: the action of clearing a wide area of trees.

    What are trees used for?
Lots of people who live on the mountain or forest they plant a vegetable or a fruit. When the fruit and vegetable tree big, They will collect all the vegetable and fruit and they will bring it to the city and sell it.

HOW DOES DEFORESTATION AFFECT THE CLIMATE?

It affects climate change because lots of people plant trees, and other people want to cut down the trees because they think it is very useless.

    ICECAP MELT

DEFINITION: ice melting and landing on the ocean

If all the ice melted what would happen?

There are lots of water coming to the ocean

HOW DOES ICECAP MELT AFFECT CLIMATE CHANGE?

It will be so bad if they all ice melted because all the water goes to the ocean.

    WATER VAPOUR

DEFINITION:  Water vapour can be produced from the evaporation or boiling of liquid water or from the sublimation of ice.

HOW DOES  WATER VAPOUR AND EVAPORATION CONTRIBUTE TO CLIMATE CHANGE?

As the climate warms, air temperatures rise, more evaporation from water sources and land occurs, thus increasing the atmospheric moisture content.

    Conclusion:

I learn about lots of information about climate change. I also search in google what is the definition of something like acidification.  I also add 2 images on each question and definition

    Hurumanu- Science Laboratory introduction

Welcome to our new room and new science class, we were blogging about the rules of this science class and what we don't need to do. What is the right thing to do and what is the bad thing to do in our new science room.

Aim: To learn about the expected behaviour in a science laboratory.

    Our R9 Class Treaty
    1.   Bags under your desk.
    2.   No food or drink.
    3.   No running.
    4.   Don't touch experiments.
    5.  Report any breakages or spills.
    6.   Do not taste or sniff anything.
    Safety in a laboratory.

teacher   shoes   practical  teacher laboratory   ask  sniff teacher  breakages
    1.   Follow the instructions given to you by the  Teacher.
    2.   You must not enter the laboratory without your  Teacher.
    3.   Report all Breakages to your teacher.
    4.   You must never eat or drink in a Laboratory
    5.  Shoes must be worn at all times.
    6.   If you spill something you should tell your teacher immediately.
    7.  You should wash your hands after every Particle activity.
    8. You should know what you are doing. If in doubt ask our teacher.
    9. Never taste or sniff chemicals.
In your group, discuss how the following scenarios could be dangerous.
    1. Not putting your bag under your desk.
    2. Running around in the laboratory.
    3. Not wearing shoes in a laboratory.
    4. Shaking a test tube with your thumb over its mouth?
How do we work in this laboratory?
    1. Beginning and End of class: Lining up, Entry, Seating,
    2. Equipment tray: equipment list and details.
    • Test tube - This is used for experiments using liquids. They have a bung that can be placed in the top. Test tubes sit in a test tube rack.

    • Conical Flask - This is used for experiments with liquid up to 150 ml. The flask has a rubber bung for the top and the glass is heatproof.
