The author wants us to know that there is someone who died near Lake Wakatipu, his name is Stephen Andrew who is 30 years old. This text wants to tell us that don't raft on the river or just when you raft don't be in a hurry because your life was into it. Also, let us know that the incident on the Cales River and the accident about 1pm on Monday.

Summary: 

A Queenstown man has died in a rafting incident on the Caples River near Lake Wakatipu. Stephen Andrew Bowler, 30 years old, died in the accident about 1pm on Monday, a police spokeswoman said. "Bowler was with group rafting on the river inflatable pack rafts". Police were continuing to make inquiries in relation to his death on behalf of the coroner, she said. 

As a mark of respect, Ngi Tahu has put a rahui (a temporary closure) on the Caples River, including the stretch of river mouth where it meets Lake Wakatipu, until Tuesday, "Police extend their sympathies to Bowler family and friends, The coroner will release their finding in due course," the police spokeswoman said.

What does the author of this text want us to know?

While I was reading this article I heard about people saying that students are talking to each other more, rather than just sitting on their phones. Some people said that phones in school should be ban so people are not distracted by things on their phones and they can focus more on their school work. If students are spotted using their phones, they are handed to the teacher and leave it into the student reception and they can only get it back when the school is finished. If you got caught again, you need to bring your parents to school to get your phone in the office and explain why you use your phone in school time.

Students are allowed to use Chromebook/laptop but they cannot access social media or games on the school network, but youtube are not banned but the school teacher can see where you at and what are you doing in your Chromebook. School networks can also ban games that they can see in your Chromebook that you are not doing your work because of playing games that are not appropriate.

Student can use their phones in special circumstances but even staff have to email the principal if they want students to use cell phones for a learning purpose. You can only use your phone in class if you were told to take a picture of your work and like there is a form that you haven't give back, that you need that permission form so you can go out with your school, you can directly call your parent using your phone to tell that you have permission to go out.

Kiwi Fruit DNA Extraction

 Hello guys, welcome to my blog, today I'm blogging about the DNA extraction that we did in Science class. We use kiwi fruit to find the DNA Extraction.

Equiptment: 

• A kiwi fruit
• Knife 
• Water
• Plastic sealable bag
• Plastic cup/beaker
• Coffee filter
• Bamboo skewer or spatula
• Test tube
• Dishwashing liquid
• Rubbing alcohol

Method: 

• Cut the kiwifruit into half and the skin.
• Put half of the kiwifruit into the plastic sealable bag and mush the kiwifruit. 
• Put a splash of water into the bag with a squirt of dishwashing liquid.
• Put the coffee filter on top of the plastic cup/beaker. 
• Pour the liquefied fluid on the coffee filter and collect the juice in a beaker.
• Carefully pour half a quarter of rubbing alcohol into the test tube. This will cause two different phases.
• After you see some precipitation, take the slimy wad of kiwifruit DNA. 
• There you have it! You have kiwifruit DNA.

The picture of this Tokyo Olympics, the creator by Glynn A. Hill tell us about what happened in the Tokyo Olympics gold medal karate disqualified after an illegal act of brutally KO"s rival fighter.

We see that 1 of the guy named Hamedi who unchecked attack Ganjzadeh which is not allowed under the karate's Olympics rules. Disqualified and his motionless Iranian opponent was awarded the gold medal.

Even he didn't get the gold medal, Hamedi was still honoured and awarded the top bonus by Saudi Arabia's sports minister because he was the only one of their 29 athletes in Tokyo to come away with a medal.

This text is about the Tokyo Olympics loses a historic karate gold medal after an illegal act of brutally KO's rival fighter. Saudi Arabian Tareg Hamedi's high kick to Sajad Ganjzadeh's neck saw him disqualified and his motionless Iranian opponent was awarded the gold medal. The referee called the match for Ganjzadeh by disqualifying Hamedi for an unchecked attack, which is not allowed under karate's Olympics rules.

In what I read about this text that Jacinda Ardern as a young woman who becomes prime minister at the age of 37, she is one of the world's first millennial heads of government. She is the only second world leader to give birth in office ( The first was Benazir Bhutto of Pakistan.)

Jacinda Ardern made a promise that she wanted to solve New Zealand's housing crisis by building homes over a decade. But then In the 2020 election campaign, Jacinda Ardern should have struggled to explain why her grand promise had so utterly failed. Except no one demanded any accountability.

Hello guys, today we start a new topic, this topic is about from the past, world war 1-2. Im going to blog about The Great Depression about Germany and there is 2 more question. I have to research and blog the answer.

3.  How was NZ affected by the depression?

Why was Germany hit the hardest during the depression?

The Great Depression was particularly severe in Germany, which had enjoyed five years of artificial prosperity, propped up by American loans and goodwill. Unemployment hit millions of Germans, as companies shut down or downsized.

In 1929 as the Wall Street crash led to a worldwide depression. Germany suffered more than any other nation as a result of the recall of US loans which caused its economy to collapse.

What Germany had to agree to by signing the Treaty of Versailles?

The German government had agreed to sign the Treaty of Versailles in June 1919 to make peace. Enemies of the government used the Treaty to claim that it had stabbed Germany in the back by ending the war.

Reactions to the Treaty in Germany were very negative. There were also the humiliating terms, which made Germany accepted blame for the war, limit their armed forces and pay reparations.

How was NZ affected by the depression?

For New Zealand, as for most of the world outside Russia, the great depression of the early 1930s was the most shattering economic experience ever recorded. Exports fell by 45  per cent in two years, national income 40 per cent in three.

English Assignment -Film

In the past few weeks, our English teacher wants to make a short film, We have to be in a 4 group, I was with my friend Khush, Kaedun, Bryce. We made a film using film techniques, it's based on the merchant of Venice.  Our short film is about  2 friends finding treasure and enemy following at the end of the movie, 1 of the 2 friends were betraying about the treasure, and the enemy and the other friend will be a friend because his other friend betrayed him for just the treasure. 

3. How is this a 're-telling of The Merchant of Venice? We use betrayal in the movies,1 of the Merchant of Venice story they used betrayal and karma.

4. What 2 additional film techniques did you use? What were the intended effects of these? We didn't use any additional film techniques

5. What were some challenges you encountered while doing this project? What learnings did you gain from this challenge?  I found challenges that you really have to try your best when doing filming because if you ruin the film and we have to film again and that's not good for your team. I learn by working with groups in film and how we work together as a team. 

6. What would you do differently next time if you were to do this project again? Maybe next time we will include film shots because we were too busy filming and forgot to put the list of film shots we need in the movie.

Comprehension - Social Sttudies

1. What %  of rubbish causes a recycling truck to be dumped? 10% of rubbish that has been going to be dumped.

2. What is going into people recycling bins? Continue to put contaminated waste in the recycling bins.

3. What are the current penalties? The penalties are if they still continue to put waste food in the recycling bin, They have to pay $97.65  to get the bins back, and sign a statement promising to abide by the rules. Their bins will be monitored to make sure they keep the promise.

4. Do you agree? Yes, I agree because they keep doing it and still not following the rules by putting the rubbish in the right bin.

5. What do you suggest? I suggest telling people that they need to put their rubbish in the right bin, it helps our environment more helpful and easy for those who collect the rubbish bin to put it in the right rubbish bin.
