Cheeseburger Experiment

Today we are doing another experiment it's about a cheeseburger, what is gonna happen. We are doing this on a group of 3 or 4

Carbohydrate:  it's important because they give us energy. Food that are found in cereals.

Protein: They give us strength, they help our muscles grow and stong and also found in foods such as meat like egg, fish and more other meat food

Lipids: They also give us energy same as carbohydrate and its fats and oils.

Aim: Figure out what is gonna happen to the cheeseburger

Hypothesis:

I think Cheese is going to be lipid

I think Sauce is going to be carbohydrate

I think Bread is going to be carb
hydrate

I think Meat pattie is going to be protein

I think Pickles is going to be carbohydrate

Result:

Bread:  Positive is complex sugars
Pickles Negative  is not complex sugars

Pattie:  Negative is not complex sugars
Cheese: Negative  is not complex sugars

Simple Result:

Bread: Negative is not a simple sugar
Pattie: Negative is not a simple sugar
Cheese: Negative is not a simple sugar
Pickles: Negative is not a simple sugar

Protein Result:

Cheese: Positive its deprotein
Pattie: Positive its  protein
Pickles: Positive its  protein
Bread:  Negative is not protein

Discussion:

We tested all the experiment and put

Wonder Viewing Notes 1

Structure- Narrators change the perspective of the viewer- 1- Auggie, 2- Via, 3- Jack Will, 4- Miranda, 5- Auggie.

Opening Scene: 0.36-1.46
  1. Camera shots/Angles: Eye-level, close-up to make us think Auggie is in space, we later zoom out to see we are in his bedroom.
  2. Special Effects:  Slow motion of Auggie jumping. Makes more realistic as in space, there is no gravity so people slower.
  3. Music/sound: Diagertic - ground control talking over the radio, gives us the idea we are in the space. Music tempo starts slowly with a quiet dynamic to match the slow-mo of outer space. The tempo picks up when we zoom out to see Auggie in his room.

  1. Symbols-Astronaut helmet. Represent the physical barrier Auggie puts between himself and others, even off its off people don't really see him.
 Auggie dad - Nate
This life leading a lamb to the slaughter

Science Classroom Scene 7.30s-9.28

Camera angle/Shot-Open high angle wide shot, makes the room look big and scary and the students look weak and vulnerable.

Body Language-     Auggie walks with shoulders hunched, slouched posture, head down. this makes him look smaller and weaker.
Trying not to be noticed.

Auggies First Class: 14.31s-
-Over Shoulder eye level between Julian and Auggie. Cuts between Auggie close-up Auggie to show emotions and mid shots of Jullien and the rest of the class. Makes it feel like Auggie is done

-Summer   'when given the choice between being right and being kind. Choose kind'
-Starwars Symbols- Jullian references Darth Sideous.
-Auggie has a padewon braid (apprentice Jedi)

Star Wars Moments: Chewbacca shows us a understand why people, but how he wishes they deal with it.

- Everyone is the Stars Wars universe look strange, weird and deformed so no one treats them differently. This would be a safe place for Auggie because no one would stare.

-Auggie 'i'm sorry my staring made you uncomfortable

Julian & Jack Fight Scene 1.06-1:07.40

Camera Angles/Shots- Over the shoulder shots as Jack punches Julian, makes us feel part of the event.

-Low angle during fight-makes the person on top look stronger.
-Dutch tilt-lockers on an angle, used to show something isn't right in the world.

Special Effects- Slow motion-makes easier to see, especially emotions, also makes it feel more intense

Music/Sound- Tempo-slow, minor-sad,  dynamics-quiet-intense
-music comes in with voice over-makes it feels reflective

Fight at the Nature Reserve: 1:29.40-1.32.35

Camera Angles/Shots- high angle shots down onto the bully, makes him look weeks and vulnerable white Auggie, Jack, amas and the of he's look strong.

Music- used to build tension, suspense.
-tempo -very quick rhythm
-dynamics- starts quiet but get louder as boys start running-build anxiety
-Chord minor-looked at with tempo makes it feel anxious.

Themes-importance of friendship & family
-Kindness

Conclusion/Ending 1.40.26-

Camera Angles/Shots - tilt shot up as Auggie bows, we are shown a similar scene to the opening only this time the background is actual space rather than painting on Auggies bedroom wall.

-Finishing with a repeat of the astronaut jumping arms up into the shot.

Music-major lay-happy
Tempo-fast gives energy
Dynamics-loud gives us energy                          Makes viewer feel happy about the ending!

Whereas at the start Auggie was imagining himself as happy, at the end he actually is happy which is why the background of the scene is now realistic.

Themes - Wonder

AUGGIE THE THEME OF THE FILM

What am I learning?

I am learning about Auggie theme film.

How does this work show my learning?

Creating a poster and explaining an example how does Auggie show kindness.

What am I wondering?

Im not wondering anything at this time.

Testing for Complex sugars - the lodine test

We are doing some testing for complex sugar to see if its protein, complex or simple. I put all the work what we have done on my blog.

Aim To see if different food has simple sugars, complex sugars or protein in.

Hypothesis
Apple, I think its protein.
Bread,  I think its complex.
Potato, I think its complex.
Egg,  I think its protein.
Milk, I think It's simple.
 Bread: Complex

Equipment: Test tube, food sample, iodine solution.

Method: 1. place about 2 ml of the sample in a test tube.

                             2. Add 3-5 drops of iodine and mix

Result:

Apple and egg there both protein, bread and potato they also both complex and there is the only 1 is simple is the milk.

Conclusion:

This is our first testing for complex sugars, I have 1 friend that is in my group we work together to do this testing and I think we've done very well.

Testing for simple sugars

Today we going to do another test, it's about food like to determine whether it contains simple sugars. I put all information I learn about this test on my blog and I hope u like.

Aim:  To test a sample of food to determine whether it contains simple sugars, complex sugars and protein sugars.

Hypothesis

  • I think that egg is going to be simple sugar.
  • I think that bread is going to be a complex sugar.
  • I think that Apple is going to be a protein sugar.
  • I think that the potato is going to be a complex sugar.
  • I think that glucose is going to be a simple sugar.
  • I think that milk is going to be a simple sugar.

Equipment:  Water bath, test tongs, Benedict's Solution, a sample of food

Method:

1.  Place about 2 ml of the sample into a test tube and then add 5 drops of Benedict's Solution.
2.  Heat with a water bath until it changes colour, Do not boil.

Result:

For the apple, bread, and potato they change colour to look at the picture and u can see what colour it is.

For the egg.gluecose and milk, u can see that the colour stay and didn't change and there is white on the top and the bottom is blue.

The three top picture is egg, milk, and glucose.
The three bottom picture is apple, bread, potato.

Conclusion:

As u can see in the photo some of them are the normal colour and some of them mixing colour, the one who is in the photo is m partner we work together as a group to do this testing. After we have done the testing I take photos of each of our testing and put it on our blog so u can see what have we done.
