Making pikelets

On Tuesday, we are making pikelets with a group of Four, When I heard the teacher said that we are going to make pikelets, I feel like so happy because it's my favourite dessert and I really like it. While we are working with groups, 1 of our teacher called 1 of us in each group and ask that whats our we cooking and what they connect for raising agent. When my group making the pikelets I take a photo and I thought I take it good picture but I take it bad picture because I was like being a hurry because we are going to cook the pikelets.

Ingredients

  • 1 cup self-raising flour
  • 2 tbs caster sugar
  • 1 egg lightly beaten
  • 3/4 cup milk

Method:Banana Pikelets Recipe | Australia's Best Recipes

1.  Combine flour and sugar in a medium bowl. Gradually whisk in egg and milk to make a thick, smooth batter.

2. Drop dessertspoonfuls of the mixture into a greased heavy-based pan. Cook until bubbles begin to appear on the surface of the pikelet. Turn and brown the other side.

  1. Hi JV. What a pity that you rushed taking the photos because I would have liked to see your pikelets and the steps that you took to create them. In your method you comment that the eggs are to be lightly beaten. They must be whisked or beaten with a hand held electric beater until they are thick, creamy and light in colour. They will then add more air to your mixture. The pikelets will then rise more than with the baking powder on its own. Did you like the pikelets?
