Significance of WW1

Hi guys, Today im reflecting on Anzac day and lots of many questions I have to answer and 1 of them is why does Anzac day is important and the songs, so ill be answering this question today.

When do you hear this music? Anzac Day- Sunday, 25 April and Monday, 26 April

Why this song significant/important to New Zealand? We remember those first Australian, who joined and fight and died, we remember the fighting first Australians. The song has a strong theme of shared fear in combat.

What is the History behind the last post - why was it played and when? It played because Anzac day is really important to celebrate in Australia/Newzealand lots of army serve their life just to save our country and protect our country from there enemy Turkish and Ottoman empire.

What does this song represent?

Is the national day of remembrance for all Australian/Newzealand who served and died in all wars. Anzac day was first observed in 1916. The day has gone through many changes since. The ceremonies that are held at war memorials up and down New Zealand, and in places overseas where New Zealanders gather, are modelled on a military funeral and remain rich in tradition and ritual.

Slam Poetry

Welcome to another post on my blog. Today, I completed another activity for the Creative Writing unit in English. This activity is about Slam Poetry. What we had to do was watch three or more videos of the previous New Zealand Slam Poetry champions.

THIS IS THE TASK:

  1. Which was your favourite performance? Why?

  2. Write two thoughtful opinions about your favourite piece and support these opinions with specific evidence (quotes) from the text (at least 2) in your discussion.

  3. Extension: Write your own slam poem

All of the videos I watch the Only videos I like is from Sam Strokes, He talks About NewZealand and the Maori tribe, He also talks about World War 1 back ages. World War 1, how New Zealand bled for their spot in the world, "between the Aegean and the Black Sea we made an ally out of an old enemy this nation bled for its place in the world willingly as the Turk baptised in fire". He also talks about the 2010 and 2011 earthquake in Christchurch. He talks about Great-grandparents who died on the beaches of Gallipoli against machine guns.

Sensory Language

Welcome to another post on my blog, Today, I complete another activity fro the Creative Writing unit for English. This fourth activity is Sensory Langauge, I had to make my own sentence using the words see, smell, taste, feel.

Sensory Langauge

It was a Hot Sunny day,  The sun so bright like a Gold and Diamond, The bird singing up the tree and it was a quiet place where you can sit and chill. The view is colourful with lots of trees, you can see the mountain. The water is very clear like air. I feel the freshness of the air. The water is very cold like a block of frozen ice. The flowers are crystal clear and smell like perfume.

Parihaka

 1. What is the man message of this song?  the main message of this song is telling how bright is the day when a lot of people receive a sweet message to come and to raise to the mansion of glory.

2. What line explains the passive resistance method? How bright is the day when all people receive the sweet message to come, to rise to the mansion of glory

3. What do you cant'' pull out of the root'' prefer to - The music and the background connected about people that haven't receive a good message.

4. How do these songs show the significant of parihaka - Parihaka is like they defend their land because a lot of other people want to take it and this song is connected to parihaka because of the lyrics of songs.  It located at Mount Taranaki and the Tasman Sea.

5. How many people are affected? I think all of the affected back to the 90s when Maori people try to protect their land. Te Whiti is the leader of Parihaka and also Tohu Kakahi.

Parihaka Lyrics - How bright is the day

How bright is the day when all people
Receive the sweet message to come,
To rise to the mansions of glory,
And be there forever at home.
And be there forever at home.
And be there forever at home.
To rise to the mansions of glory,
And be there forever at home.
And be there forever at home.
And be there forever at home.
To rise to the mansions of glory,
And be there forever at home.
The angels stand ready and waiting,
The moment the spirit is gone,
To carry it upward to heaven,
And welcome it safely at home.
And be there forever at home.
And be there forever at home.
To rise to the mansions of glory,
And be there forever at home.
And be there forever at home.
And be there forever at home.
To rise to the mansions of glory,
And be there forever at home.
The saints that have gone up before us,
All raise a new shout as we come,
And sing hallelujah the louder,
To welcome the travelers home.
And be there forever at home.
And be there forever at home.
To rise to the mansions of glory,
And be there forever at home.
And be there forever at home.
And be there forever at home.
To rise to the mansions of glory,
And be there forever and ever and ever and,
Be there forever and ever and ever and,
Be there forever and ever and ever and,
And be there forever and ever and ever and,
Be there forever at home.
